National Skin Cancer Awareness Campaign
Overview of the National Skin Cancer Awareness Campaign
Summer 2009-10 marked the 4th year of the National Skin Cancer Awareness Campaign, which concluded on 29 January 2010.
The campaign was designed to educate Australian teenagers aged 14-17 years about the seriousness of, and their susceptibility to, skin cancer and increase the adoption and awareness of the five key sun protection behaviours:
- Seek shade
- Wear sun protective clothing that covers as much of your body as possible
- Put on a broad-brimmed hat that shades your face, neck and ears
- Wear wrap-around sunglasses
- Apply SPF30+ broad spectrum water resistant sunscreen every two hours.
